Ustadi Program

🌱 Ustadi Program: Empowering Through Entrepreneurship and Wellness 🚀

Ustadi Program is a multifaceted initiative encompassing entrepreneurship, wellness, mentorship, and livelihood. The primary goal is to enable young people to generate a sustainable income through their involvement in the arts. Under this program, young artists receive training in entrepreneurship skills, learning how to leverage their artistic talents as an alternative source of employment and income. The program also introduces young individuals to the possibilities of pursuing arts as a career.

In addition to the artistic focus, Ustadi Program addresses essential components of sexual reproductive rights, life skills, and mental health. These aspects are integrated into the program to empower and equip artists and young people, promoting their overall wellbeing.

Program Activities Include:

  • Discussion Wednesdays: Engages in Focus Group Discussions every Wednesday, providing a platform for in-depth conversations on pertinent and emerging community issues.
  • Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management Skills Trainings: Participants undergo comprehensive training sessions, delving into the intricacies of entrepreneurship and small business management to broaden their artistic horizons.
  • Exposure Visits and Linkage with Sector-wide Opportunities: Ustadi Program connects young artists with broader industry possibilities through exposure visits and linkages, creating avenues for growth and professional networking.
  • Encouragement of Vikoba Savings Groups: Participants are encouraged to initiate Vikoba Savings Groups, promoting financial sustainability and community support among young artists.

Msingi Art Mentorship Program!

Msingi Art, our foundational program at Ubunifu Art Centre, serves as a hub for creative exploration and skill development. Catering to young individuals, this year-round initiative offers training across various art forms, including dance, photography, creative arts, and performing arts.

🎶 Acoustic Thursdays: Join us every Thursday for an immersive musical experience at Acoustic Thursdays. Explore the enchanting world of sound and rhythm, creating a space where music becomes a universal language.

🎭 Creative Hub Sessions: Engage in hands-on skill training across six diverse art forms—Music, Dance, Photography, DJing, Film, and Fashion/Modeling. Our Creative Hub Sessions provide a canvas for self-expression, fostering growth in artistic talents.
